The Institution of Engineering and Technology to hold its sixth Nuclear Engineering for Safety, Control and Security Conference 14-15 March

  • January 30, 2018
  • Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)-a member organization of the Automation Federation-will hold its sixth Nuclear Engineering for Safety, Control and Security Conference 14-15 March 2018 at the Manchester Conference Centre in Manchester, England.

Attendees will hear directly from the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) on guidance and standards expected of nuclear facility personnel. Engineers, managers and other nuclear facility specialists will discuss and examine solutions to critical challenges.

The conference will address all stages of the nuclear facility lifecycle, from new build through existing plant operations (civil and defense) to end of life. Concerns about the relationship between safety and security continue to be a major concern in the nuclear industry.

Key topics to be covered at the 2018 event include:

  • Security
  • Nuclear new build
  • Advanced Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)
  • Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
  • Managing obsolescence

Complete details on the event-including the program, venue, registration, sponsorship opportunities and hotel accommodations-can be found on the event website.
