New computer-based modular delivery allows for anywhere, anytime learning

The International Society of Automation (ISA) announced today that one of its most important and popular courses-Fundamentals of Industrial Process Measurement & Control (FG05M)-is now available in a modular delivery format.

FG05M, an overview course that provides technicians, engineers and managers the basic understanding of industrial process measurement and control and a foundation for communicating with other control systems professionals, is now offered in a training format that delivers the same valuable information in small, easily understandable computer-based chunks.

"We're pleased to offer this high-value, introductory ISA course in a modular format," says Dalton Wilson, ISA's Director of Education and Certification Services. "Today's automation professionals and the companies that employ them are seeking customizable, personalized training options that are convenient, cost effective and don't require huge commitments of time. Because modularized training is delivered in 'bite-sized' chunks, information is more easily and meaningfully processed and the learning experience is more individualized and timely," he added.

Learners choose what they want, when they want. They gain the flexibility to learn as they go-anywhere and anytime-in an accessible, easy-to-retain manner.

The new delivery format gives automation professionals the choice to purchase the entire course or only specific modules that meet their individualized needs, budget and time constraints. Those who purchase the entire course at once receive a 10 percent discount.

Benefits of modular delivery include:

  • Customized learning experience
  • On demand purchasing-as few or as many modules offered within a course
  • Pause and resume training at your own schedule and pace
  • No travel or hotel expense
  • One year from date of purchase to complete the module(s)

The course is broken down into 12 modules (www.isa.org/FG05M) that explain key fundamental concepts of industrial process measurement and control. These small chunks of information make it easy for the learner to grasp the knowledge they need.
