More than 120 plant, refinery, air quality and emissions professionals responsible for maintaining leak detection and repair (LDAR) programs and assisting in compliance with government regulations to reduce air emissions attended ISA’s 16th annual Fugitive Emissions-LDAR Symposium 16-20 May 2016 in scenic Denver, Colorado USA.
ISA’s LDAR Symposium is the longest-running conference in America devoted solely to LDAR and air compliance professionals and their needs and concerns. Attendees obtain the most recent news and updates on EPA requirements and mandates, and the most effective strategies and practices—direct from government regulators and industry experts.
This year’s event again featured an expansive slate of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions—drawing on the insights of government officials, LDAR program experts, engineers, consultants, and end users.
Highlights included:
- Two interactive panel sessions featuring regulatory officials from the EPA’s National Enforcement Investigation Center (NEIC) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) along with other prominent LDAR authorities.
- A distinguished lineup of guest speakers, including: Deever Bradley (ERM), instructor and Conference Co-Chair; Ken Garing (NEIC); Joe Wilwerding (EPA) and other EPA Region 8 and CDPHE personnel; Graham “Buzz” Harris (Sage Environmental Consulting); and Matthew Gobert, Conference Co-Chair, and Brian Whitley (both of EMSI Environmental Services).
- The examination of recent case studies and real-world successes in air compliance across the US.
- Access to more than 25 vendor exhibitions showcasing the latest LDAR tools and technologies.
In addition, some attendees took the opportunity to attend an ISA training course, LDAR Best Practices – Advanced Edition (SP13PC). The course provided a fast-paced, advanced overview covering common compliance challenges encountered by the regulated community and LDAR contractors.
