A new version of an ISA technical report addresses how to implement cybersecurity within the ISA-84 / IEC 61511 lifecycle. ISA-TR84.00.09-2017, Cybersecurity Related to the Functional Safety Lifecycle, provides guidance on how to implement, operate, and maintain safety controls, alarms, and interlocks (SCAI) in a secure manner. In addressing cybersecurity and functional safety of SCAI systems within the industrial automation and control system, the technical report is intended to support both the ISA-84 / IEC 61511 series of standards as well as the ISA-62443 standards on cybersecurity.
